For six years I stood right in the middle of the sports industry — from consultant to regional manager, and I saw something that has stayed with me ever since: how harshly women judge themselves. A small belly. Thighs that feel "too thick." No curves in the "right" place. It didn't matter how small the detail was — the shame was big enough to make them hide.

And that hiding always started with their clothes. Looser shirts. Darker colors. Leggings they'd tug at in the mirror because they didn't feel confident. Clothing that didn't help, it just helped them disappear.

When we took over GYMBABES, there was one thing we didn't know: how to stand out in a market full of well-known brands that had been making the same promises for years. We had no ready-made positioning, no answer to "why buy from you and not from them." What we did have was that experience from the sports industry, and that's what eventually showed us what this market was truly missing.

It was never about proving yet another squatproof claim. It was about the moment a woman stands in front of the mirror and, for the first time, doesn't immediately look away.
